The Future Homes Standard and Future Buildings Standard consultations were released on 13th December. The AES team are still reviewing the documents in detail, and initially we have produced a summary document of the key points, available here.

The FHS is accompanied by a significant change to the calculation methodology, underpinned by the new Home Energy Model, which will replace SAP. A beta software version is available and we will be working with this to investigate the proposed changes further, in order to provide more detailed information to our clients in the coming weeks.

Please note that initially this will be based on some representative dwelling typologies in order to assess the implications of different fabric and services options and troubleshoot any issues that we encounter with the software tool. Modelling of client specific housetypes will be undertaken following this initial review.
