AIMC4
Set up in 2012, the AIMC4 Consortium was a partnership designed to develop solutions to meet the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 (energy) by optimising the fabric of a building using innovative materials, products and processes. The consortium included Stewart Milne Group, Crest Nicholson plc, Barratt Developments plc, H+H UK Ltd and the Building Research Establishment.
The development at Nobel Park, Epsom was part of AIMC4. The role of AES Sustainability Consultants was to provide innovative solutions to the choice of materials in order to meet the strict criteria set out. The project involved liaising with manufacturers during the design phase to evaluate, authenticate and model the potential options in SAP.
We were required to push the boundaries with potential suppliers to find innovative and sustainable solutions that would meet the strict Code for Sustainable Homes criteria.
The result was a design solution that reduced carbon emissions and met the needs of Crest Nicholson’s customers.
Our innovative solutions resulted in Nobel Park's status as one of the first developments to meet the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 criteria. The development also won the award for the best low or zero carbon initiative at the House Builder 2012 Awards.
