AES delivered 61 Energy Performance Certificates for NW Leicestershire's leased properties for various building types. | An energy model was created to generate EPC ratings, explore improvements, and meet carbon reduction and MEES compliance targets for an E rating. | Resulted in continued work with the Council including re-lodging upgraded EPCs and targeting C and B ratings by 2027 and 2030, respectively. |
Natasha Collins, Property Officer
AES were engaged on this project to provide 61 Non-Domestic Energy Performance Certificates for NW Leicestershire District Council's portfolio of leased properties at Coalville and Moira, Leicestershire. This involved measured energy surveys for a wide range of buildings including market halls, retail units, warehouses, offices and historic buildings.
From this information an energy model was created to give the EPC rating and to simulate a variety of improvement options.
In addition, the client had targets to reduce carbon emissions as well as ensuring all properties complied with the current Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) to achieve an E rated EPC.
Work with the Council is continuing, including re-lodgment of the upgraded EPCs once the buildings have been improved and looking at the future changes to MEES regulations aiming for a C rating by 2027 and B rating by 2030.
