AES Sustainability Consultants works with a broad range of clients, from one-off self-builders right up to a number of the top ten national housebuilders and developers. Over the years we have developed strong working relationships with award winning clients and are Preferred Supplier to Linden Homes (Sustainable Developer of the Year – What House? Awards 2014) and Chair of the Group Consultant Panel for Crest Nicholson (Sustainable Housebuilder of the Year – Housebuilder Awards 2014 & 2016).
In 2016, AES Sustainability Consultants were extremely pleased to have been shortlisted for the Construction Consultant/Surveyor of the Year (fewer than 100 staff) at the prestigious Building Awards. We were awarded Consultant of the Year 2013 for outstanding all-round performance by Crest Nicholson South West, Technical Consultant of the Year 2015 by Crest Nicholson South, as well as being awarded runner up in previous years by other Crest Nicholson regions.
Industry Leading Projects
We have worked on a number of award winning projects for our clients such as Graylingwell (Linden Homes) and Bath Western Riverside (Crest Nicholson). In addition to this we have been actively involved in a number of projects to improve standards within the industry such as the Zero Carbon Hub project, Closing the Gap between Design and As-Built Performance. We have also worked on the AIMC4 project and sit on a number of industry committees such as the House Builders Federation (HBF).
Training and Development
From day one you will be assigned a mentor to help you settle in and get to know our processes and procedures. During your probationary period you will have monthly reviews to monitor your progress and ensure that any issues are identified and resolved quickly. Once you have passed your probation you will have ongoing quarterly reviews and feedback.
We have well-established in-house training programmes providing in-depth technical training and the opportunity to put this into practice on real projects from the start. To compliment this we work with you to identify any external training that you need to gain accreditation and/or expand your technical expertise. We also organise regular CPD sessions to ensure everyone is kept up to date with the latest technology and legislative changes.
Above all we believe that people perform best when they are in a role that matches their strengths and that they enjoy. We therefore work closely with you to identify the areas that interest you and try to match development opportunities to your strengths.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated Administrative Coordinator to provide support to both the office-based consultant team and our team of engineers working remotely around the country. Main tasks include being the first point of contact for client enquiries, being responsible for the administration of the on-site testing team, production of quotations and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). This is a very busy, varied role that would suit candidates who thrive under pressure and enjoy working as part of a team.
Contract: Full time, permanent position – a six-month probation period applies

The fact that the M5 resembles a giant car park on summer weekends should tell you something… If you like outdoor pursuits such as surfing and walking you probably already know how great it is to have the national parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor on your doorstep, not to mention the stunning north and south coastline. The regional capital, Exeter is just down the road offering all the benefits of a fast-growing and dynamic city, and Bristol or London are within easy reach.
Where appropriate we support employees working from home. We have systems in place to ensure that you feel part of the team and are able to actively contribute to team projects. All our remote workers come to the office for a minimum of two days every month to participate in training and keep in touch with colleagues.
We recognise that in order to attract and retain great consultants we need to offer a competitive salary. Everyone’s salary is reviewed annually to ensure that it is in line with what’s being offered in the industry. We also operate a Company pension scheme with employer contributions available in addition to salary.
Every year we review our reward package to see if there are ways that we can enhance it and ensure that it remains attractive. In 2014 year we introduced a bonus scheme to ensure that everyone shares in the success of the Business.
